Family...
Baguio Baguio Baguio... The Summer Capital of the Philippines! The famous City of Pines...
My mama grew up in this city. She loves the place.
She
remembers her picnics with her entire family at Burnham Park and at
John Hay. Her riding a horse at Wright Park. Eating the ube of Good
Shepherd... Her whole childhood was spent here.
When my mama was
already sick, her ninong came and told her "when you feel pain always
think about the place where you are the happiest" she then said
"Baguio"...
She doesn't remember this conversation because this took place after her operation. When the meds was still doing their thing.
We went up to Baguio. To the place my mama loves and feels happy.
Her siblings are all waiting for her. She eats a lot and is able to joke around with them. She has a blast when
we are here.
After spending time with them, when she gets back to bed, that's the time the effects of the chemotherapy kicks in.
It's
being with the ones you love, it's being at your happiest place on
earth that helps you forget the pains in your life and the sickness that
you are feeling. Happiness is the cure and faith in God that overcomes
cancer.
